Real is Good
Reality, Freedom and the Computer Network
Turn away for a second. Take a breath.
The new visual technologiesare unhealthy to us on the deepest level- the level of consciousness, spirit and soul. Screens condition us to willingly accept being melded with machinery or controlled by machinery. The computer network will most certainly be used against us (and very soon) unless we take a deep breath and one relaxed step back right now. It’s best to treat it like you would a grizzly bear, a snake or any other predator. Back away slowly.
Welcome back to your story, my friends. It’s either time to pray hard or party down, depending on your persuasion. Either way, I wouldn’t recommend signing up to any new social network sites. Your best friend there is old Big Brother.
Surf City, here we come.
The consolidated computer network in all its relationships and manifestations is our ancient enemy reborn.
And it wants to take away free will. But we could be tough and brave and say no to It and yes to the natural world, and the God who made this earth for us.
Feel better! Save money! Lose weight! Sleep more soundly!
You’ll see results in one month, guaranteed. Soon you may even be feeling so good that you’ll want to take the Internet completely out of your personal life and disconnect your cable service. Talk about savings! Not to mention peace and quiet. Can I guarantee you’ll lose weight? Well, maybe. My hunch is that you will. Can I guarantee that the Universe wanted you to read these words? Absolutely.
We have given a brain and body to a cosmic predator that never had an earthly brain or body before. This “It” lays a trap for what we call consciousness or spirit. We have an opportunity to give thanks to the One who made us, protect our children, and defend nature both within us and around us. We can accomplish these goals in a peaceful and good-natured way. It’s a very easy course of action. In fact, we don’t really have to do anything to make a difference. We can just stop doing so much of something that might be exhausting us anyway. Why not allow my book to be your excuse for two weeks? Just say:
for the Age of It
-Reality, Time, Fire and Story
Number One –Real is Good
Number Two-Existence tells a Story with Time
Here’s a story:
Much of our knowledge, culture and music has been hastily handed over to a global system that could be rendered worthless by one good solar storm. The computer network has become the keeper of our shared human history. Written knowledge and recorded music not deemed worthy of “digital conversion” simply disappears into the dustbin of history. In the last twenty-five years, we have taken part in the greatest destruction of collective knowledge and art that has ever occurred on the planet. Whatever cannot or will not be converted into digital has become obsolete. Look at the piles of records, cassettes and books littering every garage sale and dumpster in America. Do we assume all that music was put on CD? Most of it was not. Those records selling for 25 cents are often some of the last remaining copies of that music in the world. How about those books no one reads anymore? Isn’t it possible they had something to say?
Number Five- Life in Reality encourages imagination.
Number Six- We love Stories and Fires.
Number Seven- We are losing the ability to interpret basic riddles or read signs.
We seem unable these days to say that true freedom’s even necessary, or come up with a definition of freedom that would be acceptable. We don’t discuss in our schools whether basic privacy or morality is fundamental to a pleasant society.
Number 10- Let’s call it It.
Number 11-It appears as an angel of light.
It’s not real light, just a parlor trick. Magic. Fire from “heaven”.
Number 13-We believe in natural reality because consciousness is real.
Number16- The game is Diversity versus Monotony.
God, source of the living dream, participates in this story for His own reasons.
But here’s the pitch: a localized action has larger consequences, creating the basis for lessons to be learned. Along the way are tough decisions, great conflicts, and narrow escapes. Does it sound like the plot for a TV movie? Of course it does. It sounds like every plot line. Maybe the reason it sounds like a story is because we live in a story.
Number 18- It’s not about us adults. It’s about future generations.

Number 51-The Bill Gates Riddle.
Number 52- Considering Mount Saint Helens and Bill Gates.
Number 53-The riddle of Saint Helen.

Number 73-It is already out of control.
It's tentacles are wrapped around our power grid, our social structure, our communications, our transport systems, our fuel, our food production. None of these consolidated systems are equipped to survive without the computer network, and we seem to have no inclination to protect ourselves from the distinct possibility that at some point we will no longer be able to command this network. It gains mass and power as we become more dependent on it. When it’s done with us, what next? It already seeks to be sent to the stars-to find other life, other worlds.
Number 75- The It becomes the Teacher.
Number 76- The prison freedom makes for itself.
Number 79- It creates a commercial for Itself…haven't you noticed?
